Kevin Vachon, Chief Operating Officer, MEF

The MEF is a long-established industry body that, with the help of its many operators members, designed and implemented the specifications and standards for Carrier Ethernet services. With that work now nearing completion, the MEF, like the rest of the global industry, is evolving to take on the challenges brought about by network transformation, cloudification, NFV, SDN, 5G M2M and IoT. Hence the new focus on the orchestration of services. As the industry repositions itself for the virtualised future, so to does the MEF and it has the full support of its global provider membership as it changes direction and the demand on operator services and their ability to provide them, instantly, anywhere, at any time and on any device continues to grow at a massive rate.
