Attilio Zani, Executive Director, Telecom Infra Project

The Telecom Infra Project (TIP) is a collaboration of telecoms operators, vendors, systems integrators and others who share the common vision of changing the way that the industry conceives, creates and deploy open telecoms infrastructure at scale, disaggregating hardware from software. At this year’s summit it launched the TIP Exchange, which is an online marketplace of products and solutions from its vendor members, cross referenced with trials and compatibility data to make it easier for operators to locate and select suitable infrastructure components. It also held a number of focus group meetings to determine which new areas the organisation should support, such as security, edge computing and network as a service. All of which strengthens its goal to achieve an end to end network environment where it can bring output from its project groups into the prototype phase and then quickly deploy commercial products.
