  • TIP's goal is to run a full service provider end-to-end based on TIP technology
  • It has a number of groups focused on supporting the delivery of commercial products
  • Its big new area is to determine how to best to manage a disaggregated network

Axel Clauberg, Chairman, Telecom Infra Project

The Telecom Infra Project wants to change the way telco infrastructure is built, with the ultimate goal that it should be possible to run a full service provider end-to-end based on TIP technology. It already has a number of technology project groups up and running, with some now focused on supporting the delivery of commercial products. But it is also looking at new areas, such as how to best manage a new disaggregated network. For any operator engaged in disaggregation, TIP believes that it is also important that they consider updates to lifecycle management, with the adoption of continuous integration, continuous development and automated testing being crucial. If disaggregation isn’t combined with automation, it becomes a very complex challenge for telcos to successfully manage.
