João Bocas, Wearables Expert & Digital Health Influencer, Digital Salutem
João tells Ian Scales that he was early into the healthcare technology field and says he’s seen it develop as a natural progression, building on our familiarity with connected devices such as our smartphones. Wearables, he says, have come a long way from simple step counting: now they can read body chemistry and much more besides and are a real breakthrough. But he warns that adoption of wearables isn’t moving as fast as the innovation driving them. João worries that the data transactions they generate don’t always mesh well with incumbent medical structures and may introduce more unwelcome complexity.
