RAIA Grid officially launches to build Indonesia’s digital superhighway

Jakarta, August 26th 2026 — PT Infra Fiber Teknologi (IFT), an independent digital infrastructure company established through the collaboration of Arsari Group and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH), today officially launched RAIA Grid, marking a new chapter in Indonesia’s digital infrastructure.

Indonesia has spent the last decade building connectivity that brings people closer together. As cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), hyperscale data centers and digital services continue to scale, the next digital era requires infrastructure that can connect not only people, but also data, businesses, machines and AI. RAIA Grid is built to serve this evolution as an AI-powered digital infrastructure platform by providing intelligent, adaptive and open-access infrastructure that enables greater scale, flexibility and connectivity across Indonesia’s growing digital economy.

Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Founder and Chairman of Arsari Group, said: “What we build today will shape what Indonesia can achieve tomorrow. RAIA Grid is part of a long-term commitment to strengthen Indonesia’s digital capabilities by building the infrastructure, knowledge and talent needed to shape our own AI future. We are not building only for today, but for generations to come — creating lasting capabilities for Indonesian businesses, industries and people. We are proud to build it from Indonesia, for Indonesia, and for the world.”

With an extensive 86,000-km fiber footprint, RAIA Grid is designed to become a digital superhighway for Indonesia, spanning connectivity from 5G and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) to data center-to-data center (DC-to-DC) connections. Through its open-access model, RAIA Grid’s AI-powered infrastructure will serve telecommunications operators, data centers, cloud providers, hyperscalers and enterprises, creating infrastructure pathways that allow data and digital services to move efficiently across the country.

Hendri Mulya Syam, President Director of RAIA Grid, said: “RAIA Grid is built with a clear strategic ambition: to become the digital superhighway connecting Indonesia’s increasingly complex digital ecosystem, from data center to data center, and ultimately connecting Indonesia to the world. We are creating the infrastructure layer that enables compute, data and intelligence to move seamlessly at scale, turning connectivity into a strategic advantage for Indonesia’s digital future.”

That ambition goes beyond building more networks. RAIA Grid is embedding Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Agentic AI into how its infrastructure is planned, deployed and operated, making it an AI-powered infrastructure platform by design. These capabilities support intelligent network planning and demand forecasting, optimize fiber routes and investment decisions, accelerate deployment through automation, and enable predictive maintenance and more autonomous network operations. The result is infrastructure that is more resilient and responsive, with the scalable, low-latency connectivity needed to move data efficiently between where it is created, stored, processed and used.

RAIA Grid’s role extends beyond moving data from one point to another. By connecting data centers, cloud platforms, businesses and AI infrastructure, it creates the pathways for digital capabilities to interact and scale across Indonesia.

Vikram Sinha, President Director and Chief Executive Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, said: “The opportunity ahead is bigger than connectivity. RAIA Grid is building the highway that connects data centers, cloud platforms, businesses and AI infrastructure, creating the foundation for a full AI stack. By bringing together RAIA Grid, Indosat and Zankore, we are connecting the critical layers needed to make AI more real, scalable and accessible across Indonesia. This convergence allows us to move beyond connecting infrastructure to connecting intelligence, creating new opportunities for businesses, industries and people.”

Aryo Djojohadikusumo, Deputy CEO and COO of Arsari Group, said: “The digital superhighway is not the destination — it is what enables everything else to scale. Our ambition is to build the capabilities Indonesia will need for the next era of computing and AI. We are looking beyond connectivity to support high-performance computing today, while laying the foundation for future capabilities, including supercomputer manufacturing in Indonesia. By building these capabilities here, we can strengthen Indonesia’s technological independence and create opportunities to compete on a global stage.”

This evolution will extend from connectivity into compute and advanced AI capabilities, supporting Indonesia’s growing demand for high-performance computing today while creating pathways toward more advanced AI infrastructure in the future.

Realizing the full potential of this infrastructure will require more than connectivity and compute alone. The convergence of connectivity, compute, talent and AI capabilities will be critical to making AI more scalable and accessible across Indonesia. By strengthening the infrastructure layer that connects these capabilities, RAIA Grid aims to contribute to an ecosystem in which businesses, industries and innovators can build and scale new AI-powered applications and services.

Bringing together Arsari Group’s long-term infrastructure investment and nation-building capabilities with Indosat’s telecommunications expertise, scale and digital innovation, RAIA Grid is building an AI-powered digital infrastructure platform designed to support Indonesia’s long-term digital transformation and AI ambitions.
