ADVA is demonstrating Intelligent aggregation, using its carrier ethernet switch paired with Metaswitch's control protocols, using SDN. It allows operators to offer IP VPN services more cost effectively, especially where these carriers are looking to offer their services off-net. It also helps these carriers to reduce their backhaul charges.
