Developments in orchestration tools and SDN controllers are now enabling a viable Virtualized Central Office for telcos. The VCO concept debuted last year at the OPNFV Summit in Beijing and China Mobile has been an active partner with LF Networking in its development. We are now at a stage where we have a “minimum viable” virtualised mobile access network configuration, which shows its potential for other telcos and CSPs.
