Tony Poulos, TelecomTV (00:07):
Hi, Tony Poulos here at MWC 2026, and I'm at Wind River today with Michele D'Agostino, who is a product manager at Wind River, and you're the expert they tell me on what you're doing with AI at Vodafone. Could you tell me a bit more about that?

Michele D’Agostino, Wind River (00:24):
Of course. Hi, Tony. Thank you very much. It's a pleasure. So I'm very pleased to share with you what we did. So this is part based on an innovation project that we did with Vodafone, who is one of our key customers in Europe. They've deployed our solution and basically we demonstrated with them how we can bring AI-RAN and anomaly detection into Open RAN networks. So the problem that Vodafone really has, or one of the problems that they tell me day-to-day that they have is that their operational teams spend a lot of time and resources to detect and solve issues. I know this is a very common problem here in telcos. So what we did to help them is that we use the capabilities within our analytics capability of the Wind River private cloud suite, which includes already today, AI and ML capabilities, including things like supervised, unsupervised learning, classification, regression, health scoring.

(01:22):
So we used all these capabilities to help them. And what they did concretely is that they ran three use cases, including pod-level anomaly detection, including classification and health scoring. And so what they got from this, the benefit that they got is that first of all, they managed to prove in the context of the AI-RAN Alliance that with these type of solutions that they can find today issues much faster than they could with traditional tools and processes, but also they can find issues even before they occur. So they can proactively look at issues and then start to plan as to how they can be resolved. So just to conclude, I want to say that this is a great example that AI-RAN is not just the future concept, it's something that is available today and that in my view, operators should deploy it and take advantage with because AI and ML was part of the foundation.

(02:26):
When we defined our product, we defined it with AI in mind. So some of the capabilities required to help customers like Vodafone are included in our product already. So thank you very much.

Tony Poulos, TelecomTV (02:38):
Thank you, Michele. Well explained. Thank you so much.

Michele D’Agostino, Wind River (02:41):
Thank you.
