Chip Shot: Xiaomi Launches its First Intel-Powered Device, the Mi Pad 2 Tablet for the China Market
Xiaomi has launched its first Intel-powered device, the new Mi Pad 2 tablet. The Mi Pad 2 will be available in Android and Windows versions, both powered by the Intel® Atom™ x5-Z8500 processor (codenamed Cherry Trail). With a full-metal form factor and an ultra-thin and light design, the Mi Pad 2 comes with a 7.9-inch 2048×1536 FHD retina display, 2GB RAM, 16/64GB storage and a USB Type-C port. The Mi Pad 2 will be available for sale in China beginning November 27th with a starting price of RMB 999 (approximately USD 156).
