NTT Communications and TalkTalk Business Team Up to Expand Broadband Access Services in the United Kingdom
This Collaboration Will Provide Customers with More High-Quality, Cost-Effective Connectivity Options
London, UK, and Chicago, USA – May 9, 2016 – NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the global data and IP services arm of Fortune Global 500 telecom leader NTT (NYSE: NTT), and TalkTalk Business, a leading provider of broadband and phone services, announced today that both companies are teaming up to expand and improve broadband access services in the United Kingdom. The two providers will leverage complementary strengths in wholesale IP transit and access lines to expand the coverage of their networks and further enhance the service experience for their customers.
“We are excited to work with TalkTalk Business and provide cost-effective IP connectivity to Points-of- Presence (PoP) in our Tier-1 Global IP Network,” said Clive Hamilton, vice president of Network Services – EMEA at NTT Europe. “NTT Com offers the technical capabilities and reach required to support TalkTalk Business’ growing portfolio of services,” Mr. Hamilton continued. “NTT Com is a trusted partner that can quickly respond to growth in its customers’ demand for high performance wholesale IP capacity without compromising quality.”
Under the agreement, TalkTalk Business will provide NTT Com with high-capacity access lines. “We believe this working relationship with NTT Com will reflect positively on all parties involved,” said Duncan Gooding, Director of Enterprise and Direct Sales at TalkTalk Business. “Due to the size and reach of our network we can deliver a market-leading range of products and services and real business value, enabling customers to adopt the very latest solutions confidently and reliably,” Mr Gooding added.
A December 2015 report from Ofcom, the independent regulator and competition authority for UK communications, stated that 78% of the UK's households have an internet connection of some sort. According to Choose, a consumer information site, the vast majority of these households - almost 90% - get online through one of four big UK ISPs, TalkTalk being one of them. This collaboration with NTT Com will better position TalkTalk Business to meet and exceeds its customers’ expectations in this very highly competitive market.
