Highlights from TelecomTV's Private 5G & the Edge Summit, March 2023
After three years focusing on the economics of the telco edge, the Edgenomics Summit has now evolved into the Private 5G and the Edge Summit to reflect the growing importance of edge-based private network opportunities.
Now in its fourth year, the summit, which took place on 29 and 30 March, moved the conversation on from “what is the edge?” to look at commercial use cases and deployment scenarios, in particular the viable opportunities that are emerging for enterprise customers looking for their hosted 5G solutions.
Questions remain about the relative roles of telcos, cloud providers and integrators in the private networks and edge market. Yet despite this, the edge is seen as strategically important as service providers look to strengthen commercial ties with vertical industries.
