Neela Jacques, Executive Director, The OpenDaylight Project

Are there too many open source projects in SDNFV? Can the highly duplicated ones be gently persuaded to bury their egos and merge their efforts for the greater good? Neela Jacques says they can. In fact he says getting two similar groups into a room, getting them talking and persuading them to come together to form one project “is what people like me do all day,” he tells Martyn Warwick. Neela explains that consolidation is going to be necessary which shows in turn that it’s winning the argument. “People don’t ask those old questions any more: ‘Does it work? Will people pay for it, will they invest?’ Open Source has won.”
