Qiao Fu, Project Manager, China Mobile

China Mobile is studying the results of large-scale nationwide field trials for new network technology, as part of its long-reaching NovoNet transformation project. The trail spans four provinces in China and includes equipment from more than 20 vendors. A fully decoupled architecture is being tested, including the integration of OpenStack with SDN controllers. Project Manager Qiao Fu reveals some of the major lessons learned to date, which the telco hopes will help drive the open source community to solve real problems for commercial deployment, and also promote new technologies and solutions based on the challenges that are still to be resolved.
