Linux Foundation Networking now counts more than seven open source within its portfolio with a huge list of member companies, whilst there are over 20 projects with the Linux Foundation itself that are focused on networking technologies. However, whilst LF Networking continues to engage with vendors and telcos, it is collaborating with academic institutions to meet the increasing need for specialist skills. But are there simply too many projects to be practically viable? Are we due for a period of consolidation?
