Some vendors are concerned that NFV is taking longer to bring to market than was originally envisaged, conveniently omitting to add that the envisioning was based almost exclusively on their own wishful thinking. NFV is new and very important and the worst thing that could happen to and for it would be if it were to be released to service providers, telcos and network operators without first being fully test-stressed to its absolute limits. Expectations are high, but as Francisco Salguero, the newly-elected chairman of Open Source Mano explains, all the constituent parts of NFV must be glued together before it can work to its full potential.
