VMware, Intel and Cloudify hosted a ‘hackathon’ at Mobile World Congress to kickstart what they hope will be an ongoing group collaboration… find out more by onboarding yourself to our video.

Scale deployments of NFV, with multiple virtual network functions (VNFs), are exposing problems with onboarding - the more VNFs, the greater the complexity and this is slowing down customers’ adoption.  In addition, many VNFs haven’t been built from scratch as cloud-native, so they assume manual intervention.

The initiative encourages developers to work together to adopt tools and data models based around the TOSCA standard to build ‘blueprints’ for the onboarding process. In doing so, it promises to simplify the VNF onboarding process across different NFVI environments and accelerate NFV adoption.
