The goal of the Open Platform for Network Functions Virtualisation is to establish a common view on how a telcoms-grade 'infrastructure as a service' layer can be produced and deployed. The scope of OPNFV is very broad, says Chris. At this moment the OPNFV will be coming up with a first release of the reference platform Once the foundation is decided members will begin to work closely with their customers to deploy and bring in new components.
