Pimp my Ambulance: putting life-saving portable equipment into the hands of paramedics

"Internet of Healthcare’ is often about distributing medical support systems beyond the classic hospital ‘setting’ so that they might enable early diagnosis of patient conditions and, in some cases, allow the medical person on the spot to determine a life-saving course of action. Ashfaq is involved in a series of projects designed to use technology - in the form of ambulance connectivity and portable diagnostic equipment - to empower paramedics to perform early diagnosis. So instead of just rushing a patient off to the nearest hospital - sirens blaring - a diagnosis might be made, the destination hospital informed, and in some cases life-saving treatment administered at the scene.
