Galaxy Note7 pre-order allocation sells out in the UK

Aug 25, 2016

Sales start date phased to manage unprecedented demand

Samsung Electronics UK today announced that its entire pre-order allocation of the new Galaxy Note7 has sold out, just over one week after pre-orders first began on 16th August.

Prior to the start of the pre-order offer, registrations for the Galaxy Note7 on Samsung’s digital channels had exceeded that of the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, leading to a limit being imposed on the total European pre-order allocation for the new device. This limit was specifically designed to ensure that as much of the anticipated public demand as possible could be satisfied when the device goes on general sale.

In the wake of the pre-order performance and as part of Samsung’s continued commitment to satisfying as much consumer demand as possible, general availability in Europe is being phased. Countries across the region will launch on either 2nd , 9th or 16th September, with the UK among the first markets to launch on the 2nd September across all channels.

Conor Pierce, Vice President of IT & Mobile Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland, commented:

“The public response to the new Galaxy Note7 is testament to the demand for a beautifully-designed smartphone with purposeful, advanced technology that provides real benefits. The S Pen has always been core to the Galaxy Note series’ appeal and the stylus has been refined with smarter features that make it faster and easier than ever to create and share ideas, while new innovations such as iris scanning make the Galaxy Note7 the most secure device to date allowing you to unlock your phone with just a glance. ”

“We’re focused on fulfilling as much of the anticipated demand as possible and given the excitement surrounding the return of the Galaxy Note to the UK, are delighted that we will be amongst the first in Europe to be selling the device from 2nd September. We look forward to welcoming many more customers to the Galaxy Note family.”
