Victoria Lonker, Vice President of Product Management & Development, Verizon

Verizon’s VP of Product Management & Development, Victoria Lonker, told the audience on the opening day of the SDN NFV World Congress that the industry needs to prepare for a return to the “Roaring Twenties” – but unlike the 1920s, the 2020s will be characterised by growth in network traffic, Big Data and IoT, where Cloud is the default and a mobile-first approach is essential. Add to this mix the role of 5G in creating the ‘real-time enterprise’ and it all leads to a requirement for a new ecosystem of partners, one that supports cloud native technologies, and that can support hybrid legacy/NFV/cloud networks.
