Graham Wilde, CEO, BWCS

Graham Wilde says the mood has changed since the Great Telco Debate of 2016 as the realities of virtualisation and digitisation become apparent and are actually happening in networks. Benefits are being delivered but big challenges remain, especially in terms of organisation, process and culture within the telcos themselves and how the greater global telecoms sector deals with the human aspects of technological advance. Graham Wilde also thinks that telcos are still not properly prepared to take advantage of the full potential of 5G. It seems inevitable that the industry will face yet another round of expensive capital expenditure before they can unlock the potential of 5G in different industry sectors.
