Singtel unveils dedicated ultra-fast broadband for gamers

Singapore, 4 October 2018 -- Singtel today unveiled an ultrafast broadband service, called 1+1 Gbps Fibre Pro Gamer Bundle, specially designed for online gaming. The service comes bundled exclusively with the newly launched Razer Sila gaming router worth S$409.90 and subscription to WTFast Gamer Private Network service, which enables gamers to automatically link to the fastest gaming servers.

Priced at S$69.90 per month on a 24-month contract, the 1+1 Gbps Fibre Pro Gamer Bundle is available to Singtel’s new and recontracting customers. This broadband service features a dual network that comprises a 1Gbps dedicated bandwidth for gaming and another 1Gbps bandwidth for regular Internet usage.

Singtel customers will be the first in Asia to get the Razer Sila, a high-performance router designed and optimised for gaming that allows gamers to access multiple data channels to ensure a reliable and lag-free performance. The broadband bundle will also give customers access to WTFast Gamer Private Network service, which lowers latency and improves the gaming experience by automatically selecting an optimised connection to gaming servers.

“We are pleased to offer our customers this broadband bundle that’s specially designed for online gaming during our inaugural PVP Esports Championship event,” said Mr Yuen Kuan Moon, Chief Executive Officer for Consumer Singapore and Group Chief Digital Officer at Singtel. “Online gaming is extremely popular with our customers. This requires high connectivity performance and specialised devices to optimise the gaming experience. By bringing together Singtel’s superior network connectivity and Razer’s Sila gaming router, we believe the 1+1 Gbps Fibre Pro Gamer Bundle will provide the ultimate performance for gamers.”

The dedicated bundle for online gamers will be launched tomorrow at the opening day of Singtel’s inaugural PVP Esports Championship in Suntec City. The three-day event will see top teams from Australia, India, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand compete in mobile game Arena of Valor and PC game Dota 2 for a total prize pool of $300,000. Singtel has identified esports as a growth area as it seeks to build digital businesses across its footprint in the Asia Pacific region.
