Colt Group recognised for ESG and environmental performance

London, UK – Colt Group, comprising of Colt Technology Services and Colt Data Centre Services (DCS), has today announced it has gained a Gold rating from world leading sustainability ratings provider, EcoVadis, for its environment, social and governance (ESG) performance, and a B rating from the Climate Disclosure Project (CDP) for company environmental performance.

More than 75,000 companies from over 160 countries and 200 industries partner with EcoVadis, and this latest industry ranking places Colt in the 97th percentile, with a score of 71/100. The EcoVadis scoring considers Colt’s performance across four themes; environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Policies, actions and results in these areas have contributed to the business’s score.

CDP is an international not-for-profit that helps companies, cities, states and regions disclose their environmental impact. In 2021, over 13,000 companies with over 64% of global market value disclosed environmental data through CDP.

With D representing the lowest score and A the highest, Colt’s B rating places it in the top half of the Management band of CDP scoring, reflecting that the Group is taking coordinated action on climate issues. This year, Colt has worked closely with Carbon Intelligence to develop its environmental and climate change strategy.

Caroline Griffin Pain, General Counsel and EVP HR for Colt Technology Services, said: “Colt’s business is anchored in ESG: it’s part of our DNA and an important part of our strategy. Our latest score from EcoVadis shows we care about the impact we have on our communities, our people, our customers and the environments in which we operate, and demonstrates that the actions we’re taking are having a positive impact. We’re also proud to have improved our CDP rating to a B, which places us well in line with our peers. We will continue to work to accelerate our ESG strategy and environmental performance to help create a fairer and more sustainable world.”

Niclas Sanfridsson, CEO, Colt DCS, said: “Sustainability is at the forefront of all our operations across Colt. This latest milestone is a testament to our dedication and focus on becoming an industry forerunner in sustainability and driving change in our market. This is a moment that demonstrates the changes we are making are having an impact, and it’s a good first step in our sustainability transformation. We continue to deliver changes which we hope will see us making further improvements in the future”.

Sustainability is as a strategic driver for Colt Group. The EcoVadis and CPD ratings follow recent announcements by the Group of its commitment to science-based emissions reduction targets and its involvement in a pioneering bioleaching trial with N2S – a UK-based leading IT asset lifecycle management services company.
