There remain many questions about the convergence of NFV with small cell technology. For example, can small cell gateways be virtualised? Can a telco push the evolved packet core closer to the end user, closer to the small cells? And will NFV allow more capabilities to be pushed to the edge of the network? As the two technologies evolve, we should start seeing more synergies.
