Sharon Barkai, co-founder of ConteXtream, tells Martyn Warwick that his company is already mapping millions of subscriber flows to functions based on conditions. The goal, he says, is to inject optimisation, security and analytics quickly into the network using an architecture that can scale for large carriers. SDN, he says, is about digesting the lessons from Google and other over-the-top applications and taking them back into the network. That is how you can dynamically allocate resources, map identities and not be stuck with static configurations that just get more and more complicated.
