The Broadband Forum is looking closely at the impact of SDN and NFV technologies in the broadband network, collaborating with other industry groups to ensure best practices and solutions. It is also supportive of open source initiatives, whilst recognising the importance of the more traditional approach to telecoms standards. The CEO of the Forum gives some insights into some of the possible scenarios of NFV and SDN in broadband access networks.
