Advice to operators on NFV: Wade in, get experience, iterate

A year ago operators were telling Martin and other NFV specialists that they didn’t just want software ported from an appliance, but it wasn’t clear what they did want. Now, says Martin, they’ve developed a much clearer view of what a VNF should look like and are being very demanding on their vendors.
His advice: Seek out the best, but be prepared to take what’s available, otherwise it’s going to take way too long to get all the NFV benefits.
