Professor Andreas Hartmann, Deutsche Telekom and HfT Leipzig, and Robert Neumann, T-Systems

Deutsche Telekom explains how can a CSP use OpenStack in virtualised radio access networks. The telco and its T-Systems business have started a research project with the University of Applied Science and Telecommunications in Leipzig, which explores the use of virtualized RAN software components using container technology from a decentralised hardware-based platform in the Open Telekom Cloud. They have created a flexible, resilient and scalable ecosystem to perform further research on issues including network traffic performance.
