Panel Discussion

Last year, several leading communications service providers expressed concerns and reservations about certain aspects of OpenStack in relation to carrier NFV. Among the most contentious were the validity of vCPE use case in a telco network as well as problems surrounding upgradeability and maintaining a scaleable environment. These issues have now been addressed and the panel was keen to stress that the criticisms raised were not negative and destructive put positive and constructive. The debate was not a case of the washing of dirty linen in public but rather empiric evidence of the transparency and accountability of Open Source communities where issues can be and are 'openly' raised debated, worked and solved. After all, that's what they are for.
