Virtualisation, cloudification and consolidation were the MWC buzzwords, Ian tells Martyn Warwick, and the biggest elements at the show were the preparation for the roll-out of 5G, the heterogeneous network and the Internet of Things. Boil it all down and Cobham’s mission is to show carriers how to add additional capacity to today’s cellular network. “We have to come up with innovative solutions to address the explosion in both data and data connections,” he says, “while at the same time coping with increasing complexity.”
