What Orange Business Services is striving for with SDN/NFV is to meet customer expectations, Stephane tells Martyn Warwick. That means improved agility in providing services and reduced time to deliver, but there's also no doubt that new technology introductions are expensive when you factor in capital spending, staff training and so on. If you plan to use the technology to do one service, no, don't do it, says Stephane. But if you plan to use the technical foundation to create more agile services, then it will be worth it.
