Ken Countway, VP Network Architecture, Comcast and Director, MEF

The Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) needs to crystallize LSO and the third network, Ken tells Guy Daniels. The MEF’s Lifecycle Service Orchestration inserts a layer on top of traditional carrier Ethernet to make it manageable, agile, more on-demand and more consumable through common APIs. The LSO puts a layer between the OSS/BSS and NFV orchestration, making it a ‘lighter lift” for the traditional OSS/BSS systems.
