The MEF is no longer focused on simply defining ‘what’ a carrier Ethernet service is, but on ‘how’ it’s delivered, Shahar tells Guy Daniels. The MEF used to be all about fixed services and - as a carrier - that meant it often took us one to three months to deliver, he explains. But with the industry now focusing on automation, agility and deployment speed, we need services which can be delivered in minutes, seconds, if not sub-seconds, rather than months. This is where we’re going.
