Prem Kumar says that those wanting to introduce commercial IoT services and applications should expect and plan for deployments to be in place for a minimum of 10 years while other, new technologies such as 5G develop and mature. He adds that the ability to scale-up IoT apps and services will be vital to commercial success and that will require a strong and responsive network and considerable technical expertise on the part of the operators and service providers.
