6-7 July, Singapore: Events to forecast the future of connected, automated driving

June 14, 2017: An upcoming workshop in Singapore, 6 July, will bring together key players in vehicle connectivity and automated driving to share insight into the innovation paving the way to future transport systems able to improve road safety, reduce congestion and emissions, and increase the accessibility of personal mobility.

Thought leaders of the ICT and automotive sectors will examine recent advances in connected, automated driving and their associated implications for technical standardization, business and regulation.

In focus will be connectivity options for connected vehicles and automated driving, cybersecurity threats to automotive systems, and the role to be played by artificial intelligence and machine learning in future transport systems.

The workshop will feature a keynote address tackling the questions surrounding insurance liability in the case of accidents involving automated driving, delivered by Koichi Narasaki, Managing Executive Officer, Group Chief Digital Officer, Sompo Holdings, Japan.

Participants are also invited to visit Singapore’s ‘Smart Mobility Testbed’, a project driven in partnership by Nanyang Technology University and NXP Semiconductors, to learn more about the testbed’s trials of innovative applications of V2X communications technology.

The workshop will be followed on 7 July by a meeting of the Collaboration on ITS Communication Standards, the body responsible for the coordination technical standardization work aimed at encouraging the offer of interoperable intelligent transport system (ITS) products.
