Highlights

Dr. Volker Ziegler, Head of 5G Leadership, Chief Architect, Nokia Mobile Networks & Bryan Madden, Director of Marketing, Intel Corporation

Intel and Nokia have been strategic partners for many years. It has been a very fruitful long-term relationship and now the two companies are working together to help Communications Services Providers to evolve into Digital Services Providers.

It is an enormous and fundamental evolution and 5G is at the centre of it. This is because 5G will be so much more than just a technology on and in a device (although that is how the vast majority of the world's consumers will see and use it) 5G requires a transformed and cloudified network if it is to achieve its potential and reach deep into vertical industries such and across core networks, the cloud and the RAN.

5G faces a variety of challenges if it is to leapfrog across the dimensions of radio, AI and Machine Learning, cloud native and automation. The network edge is also massively important in 5G. Vital low latency services will be positioned at the edge of the network where only a small amount of legacy equipment is sited.
