DISH Network recently announced a collaboration with Intel to deliver a pioneering, cloud-native, O-RAN based, 5G network. Palo Alto Networks was announced as the security provider. Based on the US government executive order to improve cybersecurity, service providers are implementing new strategies to address evolving threats. Henry Yu, Director of Network Security and Architecture at DISH Network will highlight their strategy for protecting data in use, in flight, and at rest. Lessons learned during implementation will be described. This approach can be a model for the mobile industry

Henry Yu is the Director of Network Security and Architecture here at DISH. With more than 20 years of experience building high-performing teams for enterprises, Henry is working collaboratively to build a best-in-class security architecture for DISH Wireless. In the early 2000s, Henry served as VP of Network Technology and Head of Security (CISO) for TW Telecom, then transitioned to VP of Global Security Architecture and Engineering at Level3. In addition, Henry owned and operated a consulting company that developed end-to-end, enterprise-wide security programs and roadmaps for large companies. Most recently, he ran security, network and corporate infrastructure at Red Robin International. Henry's knowledge and experience with security in the telecom space is an invaluable asset to the DISH Wireless team as they build the United States' first cloud-native, standalone 5G network.
Henry and his wife Angela have two girls, Emmie and Anderson. In his free time, Henry enjoys BBQ, golf and watching movies.

Bob Ghaffari is currently general manager of the Enterprise and Cloud Network Division (ECND) within Intel’s Network and Edge Group and is responsible for driving network solutions for Enterprise and Cloud. He works closely with leading Enterprise/Cloud customers as well as with industry leading partners to deliver agile, secure, scalable and cost-effective solutions to enable best in class TCO / OpEx with transformational capabilities for the Edge as well as network / security solutions for multi / hybrid clouds. Prior to this position, Bob has spent time in a variety of product, business development and marketing positions. Bob has an EECS degree from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
