CTIA statement on FCC net neutrality proceeding

May 18, 2017

WASHINGTON – The following statement can be attributed to CTIA® President and CEO Meredith Attwell Baker following the FCC’s approval of a proposed rulemaking that seeks to remove the harmful application of “Title II” utility rules to broadband service. CTIA commends FCC Chairman Ajit Pai for addressing this important issue and for his leadership in working to ensure that the Internet remains a key driver of U.S. economic growth.

“The wireless industry applauds the FCC’s move today to lay the ground for a broadband regulatory framework that will promote billions of dollars of investment, millions of jobs and future innovation. We are confident the FCC and Congress are on track for common sense net neutrality rules that will protect consumers, and ensure the U.S. remains the global leader in wireless.”
