Perceptions that the commercial deployment of NFV network and services are taking considerably longer than was expected are wrong. Not only is the network transformation process complex and takes time to get right, but also because not all service providers are starting from the same place. Some are a long way down the road to NFV while others are just out of the starting blocks. Other factors determining just when NFV will be introduced commercially include the intricacies of integration processes and the need to ensure that the appropriate levels of service guarantees, relative to the levels of NFV services to be introduced, can be assured.
