Richard Thurston, TelecomTV (00:02):
We are here with Neeraj Joshi and we are going to talk about how to make data more useful. So Neeraj, what have you got for us today?

Neeraj Joshi, Ericsson (00:11):
Yeah, we are talking about this platform, Ericsson Telco DataOps Platform. And this platform is basically enabling our customers to make use of the immense amount of data that is produced in the network. So if you look at the telcos, they've come a long way and there are different systems in the telcos which are producing a lot of data. You've got RAN, packet core, IMS, BSS, OSS, different sources of data. And all that data is quite unique in itself. It is in different shape and form. It needs to be understood differently, it needs to be processed differently. And we've got this platform which helps you do that. So it can basically take in all those different types of data and then you can actually curate the data. You can actually refine the data, you can remove the information which you don't need from that. You can aggregate the data, you can correlate with different data sources because there's a lot of uniqueness when you actually unify the datasets that are generated by different sources.

Neeraj Joshi, Ericsson (01:15):
So that's what we are saying, that you are able to connect to different sources and it's breaking down the silos, which used to occur, which used to be there in our customers. So traditionally there used to be different silos. BSS was fetching BSS-centric data. OSS was fetching OSS-centric data. Here we are talking about unifying all those data sources, getting all those data feeds, unifying the data and combining the data and creating a powerhouse of that data and making it more useful. So this platform has capabilities to ingest data of different shape and form, refine that data and then expose that data to different consumers, which can actually make a lot of value from that data. Consumers could be consumers which are focusing on data monetization or consumers could be applications which are focusing on efficiency gains. Consumers could be traditional applications like assurance, billing, charging.

Neeraj Joshi, Ericsson (02:14):
They could also be third party applications. They could also be data lakes, they could be AI models. All of them need this data, which is produced at different places in the telco. And this platform actually makes that happen. So with this we are saying also that if you look at the datasets, they're pretty complex like I mentioned, and all those data, the data can be categorized as charging data, telemetry data, network events. They're coming either in batch mode or in online mode, transaction-based mode, streaming mode, all that needs different type of processing. So that's what we are doing in one single platform, one single connected platform, integrated platform. We are able to do all these different transformations of the data and then expose that data in a manner that the consumers understand that dataset. In a sense, we are kind of solving the data complexity, bringing up an abstraction layer between the sources and the consumers and creating an ecosystem of sorts where you have pre-integrated data sources, virtually all data sources in the telco and then pre-integrated data consumers.

Neeraj Joshi, Ericsson (03:23):
And then you can also integrate more. And all this is done in a fashion that we provide our customers with a kind of a low-code studio. So you can build your own flows, you can build your own applications, you can build your own pipelines, we call it in today's world. You can actually just drag and drop and create your own flows and make it more useful depending on the use case. Because what we are saying is that our customers, all of them are unique. They have their own challenges, they have their own use cases, they have their own systems and they would like to do things on their own, solving their specific problems. And this kind of toolset enables them to do it themselves. So it's like a DIY telco data processing platform for them. And this enables a lot, many use cases, especially in the current world where we are talking about AI and AI-enablement and analytics and AI models and all that. So this is pretty much the platform that we are providing to our customers.

Richard Thurston, TelecomTV (04:24):
Neeraj such wonderful insights. Thank you for sharing them.

Neeraj Joshi, Ericsson (04:26):
Thank you very much.
