Uwe Pecis, Edge Cloud Lead, Hewlett Packard Enterprise

Enterprise customers are a demanding lot. They always were and they are even more so today, particularly as far as edge cloud automation is concerned. With networks transforming and more and more new use cases emerging (such as smart manufacturing, augmented reality and the ever-growing number of IoT applications), enterprises urgently require an infrastructure and ecosystem that is able to very quickly to provide edge computing together with distributed cloud capabilities and services.

As Uwe Pecis explains, that enterprise market momentum is why edge cloud is right at the top of HPE's agenda. In response to massively accelerating demand HPE has developed a closely-defined enterprise strategy that provides both a complete response to new market requirements and a full portfolio of solutions ranging from the data centre all the way out to the network edge (wherever that may be at any given time) that will drastically cut an enterprise's operating expenses and dramatically improve their time to market with new services and applications.

He says HPE's intent is to make edge cloud services available everywhere and to make it exceptionally easy for enterprises to use them. As Uwe Pecis points out, over years of dealing with OTT players enterprises have grown very used to the easy adoption of of cloud technology and they expect that ease and simplicity to continue with network transformation and the introduction of 5G.

He adds that CICD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery) and DevOps are already a reality in the enterprise network and, as a direct result, there is a very rapid series of changes in the types of applications that are being deployed and all of them require a very high level of automation. And that is HPE's edge cloud pledge.
