Solutions and Strategies Roundtable

One of the original requirements of 5G was to deliver better energy and cost performance than previous cellular generations. But do we yet have evidence to support this? Are virtualized RAN systems the best option for energy-efficient 5G rollouts, or should operators adopt broader network sharing at both a passive and active level? Given that mmW 5G will involve an increase in the number of cell sites, is a more sensible approach to instead focus on making 6G substantially more energy efficient?
