PALO ALTO, CA, October 12, 2016 — HP Inc. announced expanded use of its Engineered by HP smart platform today in a collaboration with Movado Group, Inc. that brings smart capabilities to Movado’s licensed watch brand portfolio, including Coach, HUGO BOSS, Juicy Couture, Tommy Hilfiger, and Scuderia Ferrari brand watches.

HP worked with Movado and the brands to utilize the Engineered by HP smart platform into their fashion watches so customers can stay connected without having to compromise their personal style. HP provides the connected technology, hardware and software, that seamlessly integrates with traditional craftsmanship and the watchmaker’s signature design elements, enabling brands to deliver a new alternative to wearable innovation.

“Customers want smart accessories that make everyday tasks easier and allow them to stay connected without forcing them to compromise on style,” said Bill Geiser, Head of Wearables at HP Inc. “Engineered by HP enables top fashion labels to maintain their brand’s design aesthetic and still support the digital essentials that make a smart watch experience compelling.”

These smart watches are supported by both iOS (9+) and Android (4.4+) smartphones, deliver up to five-day battery life for connected features, are water resistant and use analog watch movements powered by a separate battery. In addition to traditional time-telling, each one delivers a mix of connected features via hidden OLED displays or LED patterns in unison with a haptic vibration language and smartphone app so wearers instantly receive smartphone notifications of incoming calls, texts, emails, social media updates and calendar reminders subtly and discreetly. Activity tracking is standard and the world clock feature that displays multiple times zones is available on most styles. Wearers have the ability to curate which notifications they want to receive on their wrist from their smartphone, based upon notification type, contacts and the time of day with the brands smart watch companion app, all Engineered by HP.
