Lakshmi Mandyam, VP, Product Management, Telco, VMware

While a 5G-connected world promises to bring huge benefits to enterprises and consumers, it is putting tremendous pressure on CSPs as they strive to modernize their businesses and, in particular, their network architectures, under the increasing threat from cloud-based competitors. VMware has been at the forefront of delivering cloud-based solutions and for several years has been working with CSPs as they have deployed virtualized (NFV) platforms. The need for even lower cost, greater flexibility and faster innovation is now driving a shift towards cloud native architectures. VMware is announcing new capabilities in support of the CSPs’ journey toward Cloud Native. The new ‘Telco Cloud Platform’ is a complete implementation for the deployment and operation of VNF/CNF workloads from core to cloud to edge.
