ZTE Launches the First 5G Indoor Router in the Middle East

Via ZTE Press Center

Jul 25, 2019

July 25, 2019, Dubai, UAE – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the mobile Internet, launched the first 5G Wireless Router ZTE 5G Indoor Router MC801 in the Middle East in collaboration with Du, one of the leading telecommunications carriers in UAE. ZTE 5G Indoor Router MC801 supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 access technology (802.11ax), which allows a maximum of 128 Wi-Fi users to access the 5G network at the same time. This 5G Indoor Router will allow customers to access 5G in all 5G-enabled areas of the UAE. It also provides a 10G Ethernet network port promising downlink rates of around 2.8Gbps, which will enable consumers to enjoy the advantages of ultra-fast 5G networks and rich 5G services, such as less congestion, reduced video buffering, continuous HD video streaming, and more consistent connectivity. By virtue of its stunning design, ZTE 5G Indoor Router MC801 obtained the iF Design Award 2019. With its high speed, low latency, wide coverage and accessibility, it not only brings the ultimate user experience to the traditional mobile broadband field, but also accelerates the 5G application in the Internet of Vehicles, smart grid, intelligent manufacturing, and the Internet of Things. In June, ZTE introduced the first 5G device, ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G, which is the first commercial 5G smartphone available for consumers in the Middle East.

“ZTE is always active in promoting the 5G commercialization and we’re prepared with our end-to-end solutions,” said Xu Feng, SVP of ZTE Corporation and President of Mobile Device Division. “ZTE will provide consumers with a series of diversified 5G terminal devices, including the 5G Smartphone, 5G Indoor Router, 5G Outdoor Router, 5G Mobile Wi-Fi Router, 5G Ethernet Box and 5G Module, so as to empower the future connected life and accelerate the digital transformation.”

As a pioneer in the 5G ecosystem, ZTE has been collaborating with leading partners to accelerate the 5G terminal commercialization. On July 23, ZTE announced the pre-order of ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G in China. Moreover, early in July, ZTE Axon 10 Pro 5G became the first commercial 5G smartphone in the Nordic Countries. To date, ZTE has been in cooperation in 5G terminal arena with more than 20 carriers worldwide.
