5G and the networks of the future cannot be reduced to the availability of more mobile bandwidth, to the increasing adoption of fiber optics and to the “virtualization” of network functions: they will bring unique and innovative services, enable ultra-fast mobility, and will be fundamental to massive communication between things and where reliability, resilience and low latency are key.
They represent, therefore, the future generation of communications and services, with a permanent and ubiquitous presence in all sectors of society and economy.
To provide more information on the theme, the "KShare 5G in a nuthshell" session, dynamised by Francisco Fontes from the Technological Coordination and Innovation Direction, took place on the 11th May.
