- Sean Cryan has been appointed as the new President for Latin America North and the Caribbean, he brings over 20 years of industry experience and has been a key player in driving digitalization across various regions, the United States, Europe & Africa.

As part of a strategic reorganization, Ericsson has integrated Latin America into a new market area called The Americas, consolidating operations across North America (United States and Canada) and Latin America. This alignment enhances operational efficiency and reinforces Ericsson's commitment to advancing global digitalization.
Leading this new market area as President and CEO of Ericsson Americas is Yossi Cohen. Cohen, who has been with Ericsson for over a decade, brings a wealth of experience in driving innovation and growth within the telecommunications industry. Under his leadership, Ericsson Americas is poised to further accelerate 5G adoption and digital transformation across the region.
Furthermore, Latin American markets will have the opportunity to exchange experiences with the United States and Canada. According to the Ericsson Mobility Report, these are two of the countries where 5G adoption has been strongest, closing 2024 with 71% of total mobile subscribers connected to 5G.
Aligned with this business reorganization, Ericsson has appointed Sean Cryan as the new President for Latin America North and the Caribbean. Cryan has a proven track record and extensive experience in the technology and telecommunications industry. Having started his career at Vodafone, he joined Ericsson in 2007 and since then has held various leadership roles, such as Head of Cloud Software and Services for the America’s, Key Account Manager within the T-Mobile Customer Unit, Country Manager for Ericsson Nigeria, and led Mobile Financial Services within the MTN Global Customer Unit, across the Middle East and Africa.
“Taking on the leadership of a region with such potential as Latin America North and the Caribbean is truly exciting. This region has the potential to leverage digitalization to drive sustainable economic development,” said Cryan. “Latin America North and the Caribbean is a key market area encompassing over 39 territories, 7 different languages, and 2 factories. Now that the region is part of The Americas, we will continue to promote increased connectivity with innovative solutions such as FWA, closing digital divides, and enhancing the region's competitiveness and innovation,” he added.
In his new role, Cryan will lead Ericsson's efforts to promote the adoption of 5G networks in Latin America, with a focus on fostering innovation, strengthening competitiveness, and increasing productivity in the region.
