KDDI to start Japan's first VoLTE telephone service with India

KDDI CORPORATION and OKINAWA CELLULAR TELEPHONE COMPANY plan on November 21 [1] to become Japan's first telecommunications service providers [2] to offer high audio quality VoLTE telephony in India.

The new offering adds India to the four countries and territories (including the United States and South Korea) where au World Service "VoLTE" is already available. It is part of an ongoing phased expansion of service to countries and territories worldwide.

"Reliance Jio welcomes KDDI's customers to India on the first VoLTE and HD voice roaming network in India. Using Jio's 4G LTE network, users will have the best data, voice, and messaging experience wherever they travel in the country," said Mark Yarkosky of collaborating Indian service provider RELIANCE JIO INFOCOMM LIMITED.
