Zero touch automation is a journey; it will not happen overnight, instead it will happen gradually, depending on the service provider, the maturity of their operation, the services and the use cases it supports. What is also required for ZTA is organisational change, as there needs to be very close cooperation between network IT and operations within the service provider. They can no longer be treated as separate businesses and CSP should start defining KPIs to connect what is defined offline with what the real information – which is happening through the assurance cycle – actually shows.
