O2 in exclusive deal to offer Microsoft Surface Pro 3 4G exclusively to business customers

Via O2

Jul 1, 2015

  • ** O2 becomes the first UK digital communications company to offer the new Microsoft Surface 3 4G to its enterprise and small business customers **
  • ** Three month channel exclusivity for Microsoft Surface 3 4G **
  • ** O2 is also adding Microsoft Surface Pro 3 to its product range **

** O2 has today announced it is extending its digital product portfolio by becoming the first UK digital communications company to offer the new Microsoft Surface 3 4G tablet to its enterprise and small business customers, exclusively for three months.

The announcement builds on O2’s highly successful b2b partnership with Microsoft and follows the recent news that O2 is Microsoft’s largest syndication partner in the UK for reselling Microsoft Office 365.

Combining the portability of a tablet and the power of a laptop, the Surface 3 4G features a 10.8” full HD touchscreen, a high quality 8 megapixel camera on the back, plus a 3.5 megapixel camera on the front. With a quad-core 1.6GHz processor, Windows 8.1 and a full-size USB 3.0 port, customers can use it just like their laptop.

The Surface 3 4G comes in 64GB or 128GB versions, with the option of adding up to 128GB more via microSD memory card. A fast 4G connection from O2 means customers can stream videos, view complex presentations and browse the web seamlessly, wherever they are.

Ben Dowd, O2 Business Director said, “We’re proud to be the first to market in the UK with the Microsoft Surface 3 4G. At O2 we’re always looking for ways to give our customers the best in class digital products, services and applications, so they can experience the benefits of having the latest technology at the heart of their business. The Microsoft Surface family is a fantastic example of this and I hope our customers are as excited as we are to start using the new devices.”

Dale Perrigo, Director Surface UK commented, “We have had a very successful partnership with O2 for many years and we are delighted to be working exclusively with them on such a major launch”.

O2 is also adding the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 to its product portfolio. An alternative to standard PC and tablets – the Surface Pro 3 is the thinnest high-performance laptop replacement on the market today, featuring a 12” HD screen and two 5 megapixel cameras. The Intel Core processor powers Windows 8.1, while a full size USB 3.0 port and Surface Pen gives customers all the capability of a laptop, but the portability and versatility of a tablet.

The Surface Pro 3 comes in a 128GB version with 4GB RAM or a 256GB version with 8GB RAM.

For small business customers pricing ranges from £50 up front, then £27.67 per month based on a 24 month contract for the Surface 3 4G and £707.50 for the Surface Pro 3. As part of the launch, O2 is offering an exclusive package, with 50 per cent off the price off the Surface 3 Keyboard when purchased alongside Office 365 and McAfee Multi Access or Windows Intune. Both products will be available to small business customers from 3rd July.

O2 will also be offering both the Surface 3 4G and Surface Pro 3 to its enterprise and public sector customers as part of its managed mobility portfolio later this month.
